Aros Park situated less than a mile from Tobermory is very
well maintained by Forest Enterprise and has been developed as a
recreational woodland. The company has gone to a lot of trouble
to provide good parking, disabled access, clear, unobstructed
paths, barbeque facilities, fabulous children's play areas and
toilets. All these facilities are free of charge. There is a
small lochan within the park, very popular for catching Rainbow
Trout. Fishing Permits are not expensive
click here for prices and can be purchased from Brown's
Ironmongers in Tobermory.

Tobermory Distillery is situated on the carpark overlooking
the bay. The residents of Mull, the 'Muileachs', call where the
distillery rests 'Ledaig', meaning safe haven. Since 1798 the
Tobermory Distillery has sat proudly lending a watchful eye over
the bay. Unpeated malted barley creates a unique golden liquid
with a magical heritage inspired by the Spanish Galleon whose
treasure still rests close to the Distillery. Opening times are
Monday to Friday 10am to 5pm. To book tours please call Tel:
01688 302647.

close to the bank. It is run by volunteers, most of whom have
extensive local knowledge. Although the museum is quite small,
it is packed with artefacts of Mull's history. Not only does the
museum display material from the distant past, it also deals
with episodes of the island's history, like the second world war
when Tobermory was an important naval harbour. The Museum is
open from Easter to October. |
